In May 2025, Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE), in partnership with the Oregon Department of Corrections (DOC), proudly celebrated the grand opening of a new OCE Call Center at Powder River Correctional Facility (PRCF).
This expansion marks a significant step forward in our ongoing mission to provide meaningful work opportunities for Adults in Custody (AICs). The new call center builds on the success of our existing program at Snake River Correctional Institution (SRCI) and reflects our shared commitment to workforce development, skill-building, and second chances.
Among those celebrating the PRCF launch was a special guest:
Jason Bown, a former AIC who participated in the call center program at SRCI. During his time inside, Jason worked with one of our longstanding call center partners. After his release, he was hired by that same partner—and he's still with them today, now working as an Operations Manager.
Jason's journey came full circle when he returned to PRCF to help onboard new AIC trainers at the call center, something he once could have only imagined from the inside. His story is a powerful reminder of what's possible when programming, purpose, and opportunity intersect.
"This program gave me something solid to build on. It wasn't just work - it was preparation for life outside," Jason shared.

We're proud of the work happening at PRCF and inspired by the lives being impacted. The launch of this call center is more than just a facility milestone—it's the beginning of new possibilities for AICs looking to build a better future.

A Program That Prepares AICs for Success
The call center program is designed to offer more than just work—it's a structured, programming-focused environment where AICs can gain real-world job experience, build professional communication skills, and learn responsibility, collaboration, and time management. Participants in the program support real companies and agencies through customer service and call-handling roles that mirror industry expectations.A Full-Circle Moment: Jason's Story

Expanding Impact and Opportunity
With the addition of the PRCF location, OCE now offers expanded call center capacity and greater access to programming for AICs in Eastern Oregon.
