The Process of Creating a Sign

  • We use AutoCAD® (Computer Aided Drafting) to determine the best layout, graphics, text, and letter placement per your design specifications and local regulations.
  • We fax a scaled drawing of each sign design (with options) for your approval.
  • Our CAD program plots the text and graphics to cut films and sheeting.
  • Cutting the substrate, we sand and seal the edges (HDO), then prepare the substrate to be covered completely with a layer of press rolled film such as Hi-Intensity.
  • The text layer is weeded by hand using positive or negative weeding methods as per requirements.
  • This layer is transfer-taped, positioned onto the sheet-covered substrate, and roll-pressed under high pressure to assure smoothness and positive contact in accordance with manufacturer's specifications.
  • Our signs go through several quality check inspections throughout the entire process to ensure uniformity of our signs.
  • Our signs are not finished until they have been closely inspected once again, approved, and packaged using a special 3M™ sheeting to protect from shipping damage.
  • We ship UPS, commercial carrier, tracking your order as needed.

Regulatory Signs

OREGON BICYCLE SIGNS

Eliminate the confusion for bicyclists by posting clear and consistent signage. Help cyclists know where to ride on the road, the right direction to ride, and what the safe distance is between riders and parked cars. Clear signage also notifies drivers of the potential for cyclists on the road or in the area.

OREGON GUIDE SIGNS

It is a joy to experience nature, hike and climb the hillsides, and swim in the beautiful lakes. Clearly posted, visible signage helps the explorer in all of us know where we can enjoy what Oregon has to offer without damaging protected areas. They also help the less experienced visitors navigate their way back out safely after a day of recreation.

OREGON CONSTRUCTION SIGNS

Protect passersby, workers, and your company by posting mandatory signage in construction zones. From required protective gear to potentially hazardous conditions or materials, a construction sign acts as notification of adherence to standards and practices within the perimeters of a construction zone. Mark the domain of your site through clear illustrations, alerting those nearby your construction zone.

OREGON WARNING SIGNS

Safety first
Prepare drivers for upcoming road conditions with easy to see warning signs. Whether it is an extreme bend in the road, a place where animals tend to cross, low clearance, or the need for special equipment, these signs prepare drivers to safely navigate the road ahead.

OREGON REGULATORY SIGNS

Regulation signs communicate expectations and keep motorists, cyclists, and pedestrians safe. They help drivers find their way and give advanced notice that certain areas are tightly patrolled. Provide this information on durable, long-lasting, high-visibility signage.

OREGON SCHOOL SIGNS

Keeping kids safe
Regulations for school zones are extremely important in making sure Oregon children return home safely each day. School signs allow you to clearly post upcoming school zones, crosswalks, and common areas where kids play.

RECREATIONAL AND CULTURAL SIGNS

Enjoying without destroying
Oregon is a state where being one with nature is a way of life. Encourage the safe usage of our beautiful outdoor recreation areas with posted signage showing what is allowed and the amenities that are available.

WARNING SIGNS

Caution, danger ahead
With distractions at an all time high, the posting of potentially dangerous situations equips drivers for what is to come. Whether it is a hairpin turn or first responders entering traffic, give motorists a heads-up to look up and see what lies ahead.

FEDERAL REGULATORY SIGNS

For the highways and byways
These are the signs we see from the Pacific to the Atlantic, and OCE has the tools to create signage to the exact standards set by federal requirements. From color schemes to specific shapes, we make them all and make them right.
