IN MY OWN WORDS - JACOB, TRCI ELECTRICIAN
Jacob appreciates the opportunity to gain his licensing while giving back to the community
"I would like to thank OCE and its administration for the opportunity to obtain my licensing, work in the position I seek upon release and get knowledge and skills. Also for the extra things that aren't required but they do anyway, such as: matching our monthly pay, bonuses for when we work over our normal days and scheduled times, and the appreciation meals they give us each year. Thank you for your time and consideration in reading this. Above all, thank you for giving me a future."
We have received many letters and continue to see more come in. The responses have been fairly well-rounded with a range of positive, negative, and neutral tones. We want to share with you a letter we received from Jacob. Jacob is a licensed electrician that resides at Two Rivers Correctional Institution and works in the OCE shops there. Jacob is humble and thankful to have applicable training and money to provide gifts for his family. He wants people to know how many great programs AIC awards contribute to. His last name has been redacted for considerations of safety and sensitivity. What he has to say in the following letter is real and in his own words.
