IN MY OWN WORDS - PATRICK, TRCI LAUNDRY
Patrick is concerned that misinformation has people believing the wrong things about OCE
"Working for OCE has been the best part of my 23+ years in prison. Had it not been for OCE laundry, I (and many others) would have a much harder time trying to survive on PRAS pay. I don't receive money from home, so my entire lifestyle of relative comfort comes from working for OCE. The ability to properly save money for my release made possible by working in laundry. Getting certified so I can get a good job, being certified to drive a fork lift, given responsibility to handle shipping, and receiving for Kadlec and other hospitals all made a reality by OCE."
We have received many letters and continue to see more come in. The responses have been fairly well-rounded with a range of positive, negative, and neutral tones. We want to share with you a letter we received from Patrick. Patrick resides at Two Rivers Correctional Institution and works in the Laundry. He has much to say about the opportunities OCE Laundry has opened up for him and the working conditions. His last name has been redacted for considerations of safety and sensitivity. What he has to say in the following letter is real and in his own words.
