OCE PROGRAMS

At Oregon Corrections Enterprises (OCE), our programs are designed to mirror real-world industries and workplaces.
From manufacturing floors and digital workstations to service operations and skilled trades, OCE provides adults in custody (AICs) with hands-on training, industry-aligned experience, and the opportunity to build meaningful careers.

Each program operates with the same expectations found outside the institution: productivity, quality, teamwork, and accountability. Participants don't just learn how to do a job, they learn how to show up, communicate, solve problems, and contribute as part of a professional team.

Comprehensive Training Across Industries

OCE programs span a wide range of industries to meet both workforce demands and individual career interests. Whether participants are working with advanced machinery, digital tools, or customer-facing services, every program is built around skill development that translates beyond incarceration.
Across our programs, participants may:

  • Earn industry-recognized certifications
  • Operate modern equipment, tools, and software
  • Develop technical, administrative, and leadership skills
  • Advance into lead worker or clerical roles
  • Gain experience aligned with post-release employment opportunities
Many participants work in environments that closely resemble private-sector operations, preparing them for employment in manufacturing, technology, logistics, administration, and skilled trades.

Digital Literacy: Essential for Success

In today's job market, digital skills are non-negotiable. Every OCE program integrates digital literacy training to ensure participants are ready for modern workplaces.
This includes:

  • Microsoft Office Suite: Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook, and other essential applications.
  • Human Resource Information Systems (HRIS): Understanding workforce management and HR processes.
  • Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Systems: Hands-on experience with tools that manage inventory, production, and business operations.
These skills make participants more competitive and confident in navigating technology-driven environments.

More Than the Shop Floor

In addition to hands-on production roles, every OCE operations rely on clerical and administrative positions that support day-to-day business functions. These roles provide critical experience in:

  • Fiscal and accounting support
  • Inventory and materials management
  • Marketing and sales coordination
  • Data entry, reporting, and scheduling
  • Customer service and internal communications
These positions offer valuable pathways for participants interested in office, administrative, and business-focused careers, often serving as steppingstones to advanced responsibilities and leadership roles.

Built for Growth & Advancement

OCE programs are voluntary and competitive. Participants apply, interview, and are selected based on readiness and fit. Once accepted, they are encouraged to grow – through cross-training, promotions, and skill expansion, while contributing to real projects that serve communities across Oregon. Each program page provides detailed information about:

  • Specific program overviews
  • Available certifications and credentials
  • Equipment, machines, and tools used
  • Skills developed within each role

Preparing for What Comes Next

Every OCE program is part of a larger goal: preparing individuals for successful reentry and long-term stability.
