Partnerships

OCE strives to balance the interest of private sector businesses with the constitutional mandate to engage inmates in meaningful work. OCE pursues programs that are typically labor intensive, which allows the organization to train the greatest number of inmates.

In the past, there have been a number of opportunities for OCE to partner with private sector businesses. OCE turns down many of these prospects because of the possibility these ventures would compete with private sector businesses or cause workplace displacement. OCE will continue to seek collaborative partnerships while taking measures to avoid competing with the private sector.
